Press Advisory: FRIDAY - Anti-Pipeline groups to announce ‘Protect PA Quilt Project’

This Friday, August 28th, at 9am a press conference will be held at Heritage Square, next to Lancaster Central Market, to announce the launch of the Protect PA Quilt Project. Lancaster Against Pipelines, the Lancaster Farmland Trust, Martic SOUL, and Conestoga Community Group are working together to organize and launch this project. Representatives from each group will be on hand to speak about their organization’s participation.

The mission statement for the Protect PA Quilt Project reads:

“This project is an opportunity for individuals, families, churches, organizations and businesses across our county, our state, and our nation to join together with hundreds—maybe thousands—of others to form a powerful, quilted, collective declaration of Pennsylvanian and American values.

The quilt project will be an opportunity for school children and grandparents, builders and bakers, farmers and teachers, veteran quilters and those who’ve never sewn a stitch in your life—together to declare: We reject this pipeline because our land, our families, and our way of life are not playthings for corporate greed.
