Lancaster Against Pipelines invites you to a weekend campout at The Lancaster Stand from Friday, February 17 at 5pm until Sunday, February 19 at 5pm. Together we will prepare to stop construction of the Atlantic Sunrise pipeline by building community around the new fire circle, practicing our nonviolence and action skills, and constructing needed camp infrastructure. This is a family friendly event, and all are welcome!
325 Conestoga Boulevard, Conestoga PA. Note that GPS will take you to the brick farmhouse, but you should instead park across the street next to the white tobacco barn.
Come camp out on Friday and Saturday nights at the Lancaster Stand, and pitch in around camp during the day on Saturday and Sunday! The weather is supposed to be beautiful this weekend.
During the day, you help is needed with many different tasks, including putting up fencing, shelter construction, and art creation.
Nonviolence training will be continued, including a Mass Action Scenario Practice. More details about the training schedule and work tasks to be announced soon. At night we'll sing movement songs, eat s'mores and swap stories around the new fire circle!
WHAT TO BRING:
Please bring your own camping equipment, warm clothes, and food and water for the weekend. Because the camp is at its very beginning stages, the camp is not yet prepared to provide food and water for all participants. Portapotties are available on the premise.
To ensure a family friendly and community supported atmosphere, we have the following simple camp rules:
* No Illegal Drugs
* No Alcohol
* No Weapons
* All dogs must be leashed at all times. Please be reponsible and clean up after your dog.
Been thinking of donating to The Stand? This weekend is the perfect time! Donations of money, non-perishable food, camping supplies, and firewood will be accepted during the weekend. You can also donate to our GoFundMe page right now!
Keep your boots dirty.
