Lancaster Against Pipelines invites you to join us for the dedication of a prayer chapel on the land of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ, an order of Catholic women religious whose "Land Ethic" to "respect our interconnectedness and oneness with creation" and to revere "Earth as a sanctuary where all life is protected" is a cornerstone of their faith.
We welcome people of all faiths to join in this dedication event and to become partners in this sacred vigil for the land. It is the express wish of the Sisters that this chapel serve as an interfaith witness for the Earth.
The purpose of the event is to:
-dedicate the space as a site of sacred resistance
-provide an opportunity for local faith communities to publicly declare that creation care is a sacred act
-and to explore together how to maintain a continuous prayer vigil at the site if Williams defies the Adorers by pushing forward with construction through their land
A delegation from the religious order Sisters of Loretto, who successfully stopped a Williams pipeline in Kentucky in 2014 will attend the dedication.
Speakers include members of Lancaster Against Pipelines, and sisters from Adorers of the Blood of Christ and Sisters of Loretto.
