Lancaster residents gather to prepare launch of Protect PA Quilt Project.

Residents from Martic, Conestoga, West Hempfield, and Lancaster City gathered at Marticville Middle School on Tuesday, August 11th to prepare for the launch of the Protect PA Quilt Project. Malinda Clatterbuck of Martic SOUL led the gathering.

Approximately 40 people gathered to get involved in the project and discuss outreach plans, quilting logistics, and quilt square creation.

On display were quilt squares created by members of Martic SOUL, including Grace and Larry Warmingham, and the Clatterbuck family.

Grace Warmingham of Martic Township is helping to coordinate the quilting logistics, and explained to the group how the massive quilt will be created. Squares will be sewn into 6' x 6' quilts. Each 6'x6' quilt that is created will have grommets sewn into its corners, so that the quilts can be attached together in various configurations.

The project will officially launch early next week!
